Re: My Current CX7 Tune.

Peter...

Your best answer is to email Steve or Ugnius for an answer to that question.

Personally, I ended up using Versatune as my preferred solution. It is by far an easier and better described application.

Re: My Current CX7 Tune.

Hi Pebo...

From memory (I sold the car 6 months ago), I was not able to alter the idle speed as you suggest. All I managed to do was alter the cold start idle speed.

Re: Another CX7

Watch for knock and also keep an eye on the fuel rail pressure and make sure it meets the targets for those situations, especially the open loop/high load targets. Only worry about knock under high load and RPM. Do not be afraid to run lots of advance at low RPM's up to 2500rpm. The ECU will pull t...

Re: Idle AFR

My experience altering the AFR at idle RPM points in the closed loop table only have an effect for a short time. After that things go a bit haywire. I leaned the idle and low RPM AFR's out a fraction, and the net result after a few days was that the AFR became richer..!! I wish I knew what was happe...

Re: possible to copy tune from car?

MazdaEdit will not overwrite the ECU after VT is installed. It will error. I can vouch for that firsthand...!!! Having said that, I do have a VT conversion of my MazdaEdit file when I was a beta tester for VT. It is for the CX7. If you send me your MazdaEdit file, I will be able to map across some t...

Re: My Tuning/Logs

The CX7 knocks it's ring off at low and part throttle even with the stock tune. This is why I never worry about it.

Re: MPG pre and post tune

Hello There...

I just had a quick look at your logs, and I would be happy with them. Boost is not insane, fueling looks OK and the small amount of knock is not what I personally would worry about.

Re: MPG pre and post tune

Personally........

WOT knock of 0.7 is no issue.

Cruise knock can be ignored too. I have seen 6+ knock with the stock tune.

Re: MPG pre and post tune

Hello There... The car knocks a lot under the stock tune. And that has never caused an issue. The theory I work with is to give the car as much timing as it can use until it knocks. And at that point it will retard. This is what I have done at the low load points for cruise RPM's. If you see knock a...

Re: MPG pre and post tune

Hi There...

I am glad the file has worked well for you, and your economy is better than before. Please tell me how you find the car to drive with my tune.

Cheers..!!!
