Re: Help, guidance and advice please (2.3 engine swap mx5)
You've gone a really difficult route in order to turbo your MX5.. Changing the gear ratio's in the ECU programming to match the transmission and rear diff in the MX5 could help your issue... Both Versa Tuner and Cobb can do that... Outside of that, there isn't any programmable solutions as far as I ...

Re: Desired AFR
APP Thershold 1 and 2 determine when the ECU goes into WOT state.. As a test set them to 105% to keep the car out of WOT.. This should force the ECU to reference the 2 open loop fuelling tables.. I believe WOT has a different fuelling table we don't have access to... If that doesn't change what your...

Re: Desired AFR going rich at high rpm
How did you disable WOT?? You've done a bunch of interesting things with your tune that I would change. You're VE table for example plays into the load calculation's/Torque calculations.. It also plays into the Fueling calculation.. This works with your MAF sensor.. I wouldn't run CL 100% of the tim...

Re: Desired AFR going rich at high rpm
I haven't played with this stuff on a mazda, so I can't tell you for certain how those tables work.. But I've seen similar stuff with GM's and Fords.. If you have a cat on the car, you want to leave those tables stock otherwise you risk melting down the cat.. If you are running the car hard on the t...

Re: Desired AFR going rich at high rpm
It's catylist over temp protection... Try reducing the Cat temp afr corrected table... Put them back to stock.. Also what are you using to log AFR's?? The O2 sensor is listed as a Narrow band O2 and it's sitting at 0.02V... If that is in fact a narrow band O2 sensor, that's a really low voltage for ...

Re: Tuning Troubles
Smooth out the MAF curve.. You can try adding 10-15% duty cycle 3500 RPM and lower.. 5000-6000rpm try 70% duty cycle..
You'll need to make AFR corrections with the VE tables after you've smoothed out the MAF curve.. Which is a topic that no one really talks about..

Re: Tuning Troubles
After looking at the tune there's more going on... This is comparing the last log and the latest tune file... The ECU wants more duty cycle to try and hit the load targets down low.. There's to much DC after 5000rpm. The MAF curve isn't right at the load levels it's hitting.. This will be causing so...

Re: Tuning Troubles
You are pretty much at the limits of your CAI... The MAF voltage is hitting 4.5V... At this point you are attempting to suck air through a straw that's to small.... You'll need to upgrade to a larger MAF housing/intake...

Re: Actual load versus calculated load
I never found the calculated load a reliable measure to work with because it has too many inconsistent variables (ambient temp, barometric pressure, and so on), while the absolute load is simply a measure of air flow, engine displacement, RPM point and volumetric efficiency in that rpm/load point. ...

Re: Actual load versus calculated load
The Load settings work the same... Unless you are comparing tunes on the same day with zero enviromental differences then you'll get different Load values... As an engineer enjoy looking up OBD2 regulated Absolute Load calculation.. This is how the load pid is calculated.. Also data logging rates pl...
