Re: Big turbo tuning with stock manifolds
Based on your feedback, I went back and checked for boost leaks with my homemade boost leak tester (using a similar tester to the one described here ). Other than a pin-hole leak in the MAF housing to intake tube weld, I didn't find anything obvious using soapy water and pressurizing the system to a...

Re: Big turbo tuning with stock manifolds
Unlike that world, we don't have access to injector data in order to make the kind of changes needed to rescale a table the way the domestic world does. I'm talking 100% versatuner context. I think CrazyCanadian was referring to my previous post. I do have a touch of experience in the domestic worl...

Re: Big turbo tuning with stock manifolds
With 11.8 target AFR at higher RPM and load you're already in the higher ethanol blends territory... As long as it works it's fine, but in case of real knock you don't have enough injector headroom left to address it, even though things may still work at 100+ InjDC but it's sub-optimal to inject in...

Re: Big turbo tuning with stock manifolds
Sorry about the late reply. I recently started a new job. So I don't have much time to invest in the car. After fixing the issue, I lowered WOT timing then incrementally made further tuning changes (i.e., increased requested load, WGDC, etc.). Within the last week, I installed my JMF V2 manifold. So...

Re: Big turbo tuning with stock manifolds
Update: Did this a while ago, but got busy with work. I double-checked timing. With cams and crank set to TDC (w/ cam plate and crank pin placed), this is what I found. The crank pulley slipped and retarded global timing (top image). It's since been fixed (bottom image).

Re: Big turbo tuning with stock manifolds
Thanks for replying. I was hoping that you would. This is all good information to know. I plan on running my PI setup returnless on E10 with an upgraded in-tank pump first. Eventually, I'll consider higher grade fuels and/or running an independent PI fuel system. More importantly, I do agree with yo...

Big turbo tuning with stock manifolds
Greetings all, I have the following mods to my MS6: - Built block (Manley H-Tuff rods and pistons, and supporting components) - HTP 3.5" intake (recirculated w/ honeycomb air straightener) - Turbosmart Plumback BPV - Corksport CST5 turbo (internally wastegated w/ base 14 psi springs installed) ...
