Re: Versatune install error
There's not much we can do. Those devices constantly query the ECU and interfere with the flash process. They will interfere with any tuning solution you decide to use. You don't need to completely remove them. Just disconnect them from power or from the CAN bus for 1 hour while you reflash the ECU.

Re: Versatune install error
Then you probably have some other device connected to the CAN bus or the OBD-II port of the vehicle. Gauges, loggers, alarms, modules that keep the lights or radio on. Common culprits are devices made by MX-5 Things.
You will need to disconnect them temporarily while you are reflashing the ECU.

Re: Versatune install error
What car do you have? Do you currently have an aftermarket tune on the ECU? Does it fail right away or somewhere in the middle?

Re: Flash or recovery impossible...
This error can mean one of two things: 1. The ECU is stuck in some weird state after the last reflash. Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to reset it and then try again. 2. The ECU was tuned previously with a tuning solution that locks it on a deep level. It has not been tuned with Vers...

Re: Flashing VersaTune over EcuTek
It will not. EcuTek locks the ECU on many levels and needs to be removed before any other tuning solution can be installed. Try contacting the company that originally tuned the ECU or a Mazda MX-5 tuning specialist, such as Fab9 Tuning.

Re: Standalone logging with the Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 and microSD
We are not planning to add this feature in the near future due to the wide variety of different vehicle interfaces that can be used with VersaTuner.

Re: 93 tune made no noticeable difference to anything
The conditions to get crackles and pops on SkyActiv platforms are these: Load < 0.1666 RPM > 2250 APP > 0% In gear you need to decell from fairly high rpm with the accel pedal just off the rest In neutral, you need to rev to like 5k and hold the pedal off of the rest while revs come down Crackles an...
