It will not. EcuTek locks the ECU on many levels and needs to be removed before any other tuning solution can be installed. Try contacting the company that originally tuned the ECU or a Mazda MX-5 tuning specialist, such as Fab9 Tuning.

Yes, the error is definitely caused by your gauges. Please disconnect them temporarily while you reflash the vehicle or use the dashboard.

VersaTuner only supports ELM327 based vehicle interfaces over Bluetooth. ELM327 devices have limited functionality and cannot be used to reflash a car, they only provide low speed data logging. If you are planning to purchase a paid version of VersaTuner we recommend that you get one of the recommended cables: OBDLink SX or Tactrix OpenPort 2.0
ELM327 adapters are slow, unreliable and cannot be used to reflash the ECU.
