VersaTuner 1.13 released
The long wait is over and we are releasing VersaTuner 1.13 today!
It is distributed and activated differently, so please check your email inboxes for details how to log on to your personal user area and where to find your activation keys.
Now let's see go over the new features in more detail:
NEW FEATURES
- Possibility to edit the axis values (where technically possible) to accommodate turbocharged/supercharged, high load or high RPM applications
On Mazda RX-8 and other platforms that are not turbocharged from the factory, a lot of the tables will be limited to roughly 1.0-1.25 load, because a NA engine never reaches more. When installing a turbocharger or a supercharger on these vehicles, you will not be able to control the fuel or spark at high loads. Similar problems are encountered when installing a much larger turbocharger on a G2 MS3 or a CX-7 or when you are trying to tune a high-revving engine, but the RPM axes are limited.
Axis editing feature allows you to edit the axes of some tables so that they span the higher loads/RPMs and give you precise control over tuning in that range. Please note that unlike extended tables on Gen 1 MZR DISI platforms, axis editing does not change the size of the axis, only its values, so when you increase the range, you will lose some granularity. So make sure you only set your axis to the loads/RPMs you actually will encounter. Do not set it to 0.0-5.0 if all you need is 0.0-1.8.
To access this feature, please look for the "Edit Axes" button in the Tune Editor below the table data: You can interpolate axis values if you want them to be spaced out evenly, or just type them all in by hand.
If the "Edit Axes" button is not enabled, the axes for that table cannot be edited (they are either not statically defined in the ECU or they are shared with other tables).[/i]
- Automatically rescale table values after editing the axis for easy tuning
Another very cool feature related to axis editing is the possibility to automatically rescale the table values after you edit the axes so that the logic of the table does not change. Just mark the corresponding checkbox in the "Edit Axes" window and the whole table will be recalculated so that the values that corresponded to the old axis values are moved where they need to be with the new axes. You will only need to specify new values for the "edges" of the table with higher loads/RPMs.
- Automatic updates - never miss a VersaTuner update in the future - New license activation procedure
VersaTuner now needs to be activated on each computer it is installed on. Activation requires internet connectivity and needs to be performed only once. You can find activation keys in the user area of the website.
- Possibility to work with multiple cars and tuning platforms using one license
No need to have several instances of VersaTuner installed if you have several supported vehicles with VersaTuner licenses. You can now tune them all using one app, just contact us and we will merge your licenses.
- User area https://www.versatuner.com/account - manage your VersaTuner licenses, download latest setup packages and update your contact details
- Added support for flashing with OBDLink LX/MX bluetooth interfaces
You can now reflash your ECU over Bluetooth using OBDLink LX/MX interfaces. Just update them to the latest firmware and you should be good to go. Wireless connections are generally less reliable than USB, so if you decide to reflash your ECU over Bluetooth, try not to move or touch anything and turn off all sources of interference.
- Optimized ELM327 and OBDLink LX/MX interface performance
- Possibility to display "My Tunes" in a grid with sorting and filtering capabilities - It is possible to quickly find a DTC that you want to disable in tune customizer - Launch control and no lift shift rev limits can now be set up to 10000 RPM
- VersaTuner setup packages and libraries are now digitally signed for higher security
- Online tune database is loaded faster and works with all firewalls
Gen 1 AND Gen 2 MAZDA RX-8
- Flash counter is not incremented when flashing with VersaTuner, you can reflash your ECU many hundreds of times without locking it
- Added new, renamed existing fuel tables and updated their descriptions
Gen 1 MZR DISI
- Added the possibility to disable the DTCs P2096, P2097, as well as some others
FIXED BUGS
- Corrected Equivalence Ratio parameter to use ISO parameter and scaling for all DISI and RX-8 platforms
- Fixed the issue when some Gen 2 Mazda 3 MPS vehicles would require multiple attempts to complete a reflash
- Fixed the problem when trying to read DTCs from advanced keyless entry module on gen 1 Mazda RX-8
- Fixed the scaling for Charge Air Cooler Temperature B1S2 parameter on SkyActiv-D platforms
- Fixed an issue when trying to copy and paste values between tables of different size in the Tune Editor
It is distributed and activated differently, so please check your email inboxes for details how to log on to your personal user area and where to find your activation keys.

Re: VersaTuner 1.13 released
Only Bluetooth at this time. We will see if we can add Wifi easily.
Re: VersaTuner 1.13 released
That would be great, I know that wifi offers a lot more bandwidth for logging etc.Ugnius @ VersaTune wrote:Only Bluetooth at this time. We will see if we can add Wifi easily.

Yes, all features that are not specific to certain platforms (they are listed under corresponding chapters) will work on Mazda MX-5 ND.

Re: VersaTuner 1.13 released
We are currently working on adding support for OBDLink SX. We are working with the manufacturer to see if we can make this cable work for flashing, too. It support full speed logging.JohnnyT wrote:ScanTool OBDLink SX USB: Professional Grade OBD-II Automotive Scan Tool for Windows - DIY Car and Truck Data and Diagnostics
