Currently there is no functionality to prevent sleep or warn the user to disable sleep when reflashing. Sleeping during the reflash process causes the software to freeze, resulting in a recovery flash.
While disabling sleep in Windows is easy, those of us who use our personal devices to very occasionally reflash can easily forget, and fixing this through software would be very easy. The cost of fixing this is dramatically lower than the severity of making this mistake.
Disable Sleep During Reflash
Re: Disable Sleep During Reflash
Flashing a tune takes well under two minutes (a minute and change). I do not think anyone thought that a laptop will go to sleep in under two minutes from not touching it, this is not a reasonable setting regardless if you're flashing a tune or just reading a document on your laptop.
In my case for flashing and logging I have a profile with all these power saving features disabled. Well, of course, the powersaving options were disabled just for logging, I do not want the laptop to go to sleep and have to re-enter the password while all it takes to restart or just start logging is a touch of the mousepad or the space bar, which both can be done 100% safe while driving, and entering the password again is far from it. So you need to configure your laptop correctly.
