DTC P2178, P2188

Post by OMISPEED3 »

Hello guys!

My ecu is throwing these codes: P2178 & P2188. I checked every vacuum line, BOV seals, spark plugs and everything is ok. I only need to check my Injectors seals. I logged and the STFT & LTFT are -25% and sometimes 15%. The MAF and the Oxygen sensor are responding good. I have no idea what it could be. Any suggestions??

Best regards!

Just make this a bit more clear: is it the LTFT's -25 and +15? Let's just leave the STFT's out of the discussion for now...
Also please post your MAF cal, a CL MAF cal log and tell us what intake you have. Based on what the other users with the same intake have we may be able to determine if it's a bad/dirty MAF, some intake leak that goes away in certain conditions, and so on.

Ok, my LTFT are -25%. The MAF housing is 3". The car was running good with only -0.8% on LTFT. Now with those DTC on the car idle is crazy and running very rich. You can smell the fuel out of the exhaust. I will later post logs.

Regards!

Boost leak, MAF problem, or 02 sensor problem.

I'd lean towards O2 sensor if the idle is all over the show. It's probably trying to make stoich so is very erratic.

Well, the injector seals were broken, I replaced them with the SURE seals. So let see how the car works.

My fuel trims went like that when my purge solenoid valve failed... Can't remember the fault codes but its easy to test.

Good afternoon! I'm sorry, but I unfortunately do not understand what the problem is over the author's theme? Can you explain in more detail? Thanks)

The questions are addressed to those to at least understand the problems if not even know what the cause of the problem is. If you do not understand the question then most likely you shouldn't have replied to such an old thread.

Hi,

can this error codes occur after installing a 4" MAF (OD) housing? If i drive normally or faster it's all ok. But if i drive slowly with longer idle times (rush hour) i have these codes.
My MAF Cal is only made basicly with calculated values (OEM 2,6" to 3,74").
