Re: Map editing
If your Base BCS DC is right on, then modify the Req Load Multiplier Accel/Decel tables for each gear as needed. Exhaust mods tend to cause this condition as the turbo spools faster that stock.

Hey bro, skiptownmcat wrote:logs and copy of the tune, throttle closure is still there.
I've been following your posts since the start of this thread. I had a look at your logs and new tune v1.10. Looks like the throttle closure starts at about 2300RPM. I also had a look at your Absolute limits. I'm not a pro(yet, hehe). BUT what i can tell is that our cabs have 3 ways of controlling boost. 1st with throttle, 2nd waste-gate and lastly the turbo spool times(which is affected by a lot, for ex, the dp, exhaust and intake etc). My money is on your WGDC. By closing it rapidly is telling your ECU that you want "MOAR" pressure and fast, so the I think the ECU is going like: You want boost? OK, I'll close the throttle a little which causes the pressure to build up some more.. I could be wrong tho so don't burn me haha! That's why you'll also see the throttle to gradually open up over the rest of the RPM range.
I'm having trouble with my OEM boost sol... I connected up my AEM boost sol with my electronic boost controller yesterday. Running VT & my HDI boost kit for the first time since installing VT, blew a boost pipe off this morning on my way to work... O_o... Upgrading my clamps this weekend... Hope we can get your throttle closure prob sorted ASAP!
I know exactly how you feel bro!
We are going to find the prob,
Keep Well

Re: Map editing
You may well be right, but if I request loads under 2 it seems to not close. I may reduce BCS base by 50 at 2250 rpm and see what happens.

Re: Map editing
What is the typical barometer reading in your area? Are you at any sort of elevation?
Also, drop the BCS DC Base at 2250 from 100 to 30 to help with that initial spike.
Change the 0 in the last cell of BCS DC Adjustment - Load Target Correction to a negative value. with this at 0, you are not trying to correct for a massive overload condition.
Change the APP Req load and DBW Overload tables to match the normal tables. I always keep them the same.
Your per gear req load tables are below what you are seeing as actual load. If you want to see 2.0 load at 2500, you need to up the req load per gear so the ECU doesnt see it as an overload condition.

Re: Map editing
Baro reads 99-101, no elevation that would affect things.
I copied and pasted that BCS correction table from tue grimspeed tune, I'll re-check it though
So you're saying the overload tables should match the normal tables
And have I totally misunderstood, the per gear tables are for setting the overload conditions and the actual lookup value is taken from the app req load? If so, i've been doing it wrong!!

Re: Map editing
On the BCS DC, you are spooling earlier than stock, so you need to cut the 2250 BCS DC Base. The 100% values should only be used below the initial spool rpm.
The APP Req Load tables are the main lookup not to exceed any of the limits such as per gear, rpm, baro, etc.
As a general rule, I always match the normal and overload tables.

Regarding the throttle closure issue..... are the values in the "Overboost Protection Throttle Reduction" table set at 229kpa? You seem to hit above this then I guess this table comes out to play.

Re: Map editing
I have raised the abs limits a touch, and at the point it was closing was nowhere near the map limit.JUT wrote:Regarding the throttle closure issue..... are the values in the "Overboost Protection Throttle Reduction" table set at 229kpa? It was my in gear tables, I had the app req load and baro set high and was using the in gear tables to control the load, the ecu saw it as an overload condition so it was closing the throttle.

Re: Map editing
Passed my MOT today with the new exhaust system I've got. It was the cat.
Back to the tuning then, hit fuel cut today, temps have dropped to just below freezing, my car is now spinning freely in 4th gear. New Tyres going on tomorrow then back to logging.
