100% CL - benefits and drawbacks

Post by mituc »

What are the benefits and drawbacks of a 100% closed loop tune apart from having the LTFT's active all the time and having no transitions between the two states?

I had a rich mixture (<0.75) when starting feed meth in OL.
With FTCL my Actual AFR always equal Desired AFR.
But I can not increase CL/OL Load Threshold greater than 2.0. So I have OL when load > 2.0. :(

Hey Yura!

Indeed, that was their point as well, to use full time CL only when messing with random mixtures of meth or ethanol.
It's probably just a matter of time until the Versatuner crew will release a version that will raise the CL-to-OL threshold from maximum 2 to, say, 4.

I believe that if you set CL OL APP Threshold 5 to 100% it will never go OL as the APP will never exceed 100%.

Indeed, but there's also a load threshold which cannot be set higher than 2 in versatuner. And whichever condition is met first will make the ECU decide to go OL.

My tune already has all the values in that APP table set to 100%. However, the load threshold is set to 1 so whenever load exceeds 1 the ECU transitions to OL. I guess same thing will happen at load 2.

I saw someone else (can't remember who right now) that was CL at WOT from setting that table to 100%. Maybe they were under 2.0 load. I'll be sure to raise the load limit on the OL/CL load tables in the next release.

Hello,
I have a question about 100%cl ,if we manage to make it work then we will have only to make the cl maf cal??
So all the ol tables will be useless??

Is that correct or i`m missing something....
