Megaspool with cat

Post by Elvang »

I have installed the software and calibrated the MAF sucessfully. This weekend I went out for a race, but the car could not launch at all. I had megaspoo enabled for launch, and pre tests were good. I have now investigated it, and my conclusion is that the front cat has melted. Is it posible to run with mega spool on a car with cat?
If I want to upgrade the cat to a race cat, will I then be able to use mega spool without destroying it?

Any of you with some good experience please comment.

Thanks

MegaSpool uses the stock rev limiter which fuel cut based, not spark cut, so it should not damage the cat if used for a reasonable amount of time. If you use MegaSpool for a really long time, it's possible to damage the cat. That is also true for the stock rev limiter. You should only use MegaSpool long enough to spool the turbo and launch. I have used it without issue, and I have not heard of anyone else having trouble with it.
