flat foot shifting

Post by KEEPITORIGINAL »

i enabled flat foot shifting, rpm is set at 6600 rpm. My boost hits 17.7 on regular shifting at 6500 to 6600 rpm. when i flat foot shift my my boost guage on dashboards lights up and i get boost pressure anywhere from 20 -21psi. i was wondering how i adjust so i dont boost this high on flat foot shifting, or are these ok pressures. i love the pull out of the gears feels great. :biggrin

With a FFS rpm set to 6600rpm you should have a rev limit of probably 9500rpm which I'm pretty sure it's not the case. I have a rev limit of 7150rpm and the FFS rpm is set to 4800.
Well, if I really shift at the rev limit I have set I'm around 5400-5600rpm in the next gear, but even with a built engine and a larger turbo shifting that high doesn't make much sense as the power curve is relatively flat in that area and you're only spinning the engine faster and have it produce more heat.
So set the FFS rpm lower, that will make the FFS mechanism be less aggressive with fuelling and low timing. That should partially take care of the overboost on FF shifting.
