91US_95EU Octane tune with high flow downpipe?

Post by hetzenauer »

Hey guys,

I am new in the forum. So i have a Mazdaspeed 6 with a high flow downpipe installed. I run the car with the high flow downpipe 93 Octane map. Since september i´'m in school again and don't have the money to drive this car with 93 Octane.
I don't want to reinstall the OEM cat. So my question: is it possible to tune the car with installed catless downpipe on 91 Octane? It's much cheaper in my country than 93 Octane.

I hope someone knows something about this.

Yes, you can flash the 91 Octane base tune and drive the car with that.
Alternatively you could run the Base 91/95 map for CAI+TIP, it has slightly lower load targets and commanded wastegate duty cycle which will with a lot better/safer with a high flow downpipe on a car with factory fuel pump internals.

So with the Base 91/95 map for CAI+TIP i have no problem with the less backpressure of the downpipe?
What's with the Economiser map? Is it also possible or isn't it this good with the downpipe?

Every tune has a description, you should really waste 5 seconds of your time to read it.
With a downpipe one thing that you should do is increase the idle from 650/700rpm to 800rpm.

Until you upgrade the fuel pump internals you will be just fine with the Base 91/93 with tip+cai.

The fuel economy is something that is done (or not) by your right foot. The economizer tune makes the car drive like a wet mule in the low rpm/low load situations. Alternatively you can drive the car with a lighter foot and the effect is exactly the same.

I also created a tune for your situation, it's a combination between the Base 91/95 and the base 93/98 with high flow DP. This should be even better.
