VersaTuner 1.7.1

Post by Steve @ VersaTune »

Due to a bug in the extended VVT table lookup in VersaTuner 1.7.0 for Mazdaspeed6/Mazda6 MPS , we have released version 1.7.1.

This bug causes the requested valve timing to be erratic. The final requested valve timing is still governed by a final safety check in the code, so valve/piston contact is avoided.

All users of VersaTuner 1.7.0 for Mazdaspeed6/Mazda6 MPS are strongly encouraged to upgrade to version 1.7.1 as soon as possible and re-flash your current tune using version 1.7.1 to correct the bug.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

So this bug isn't affecting the 3MPS/Speed3? I'm thinking that the ECU and tune logic are not different.
Is this bug affecting the entire VVT on the entire RPM range or just the extended part, past 7k?

This is only affecting VersaTuner 1.7.0 for MS6/6MPS. All VVT lookups are affected.

I didn't reflash since 1.6, am I safe?

Cheers.

If you have not flashed with 1.7.0, you are fine. Just install 1.7.1 and not 1.7.0 when you are ready to upgrade.
