First tune, first logs. Looking for comments.

Post by Ungjaevel »

Hello,

I'm just in the beginning of my tuning. Still learning a lot - thanks to everyone on all forums for contributing!

These are my first logs after all my changes to my car and a "quick and dirty" MAF cal and first try at tuning.

The big:
Mazda 6 MPS -06, 50,000km
Corsport FMIC, IVT22, Corksport 3" DP, with cat, and 3" catback.
Garrett turbo and ebcs has not yet been installed.
Using VersaTune 1.7.2.

All mods / the fine print:

Today: +1* Celcius, and I'm at sea level.

My own (quick) comments:
Turbo (K04) gets tired at ~4700 rpm - is this normal?
Realize WGDC needs to be adjusted - will be done.
I'm now changeing my WGDC map, will try a few runs tomorrow with the updated one. (Thinking this could change the "tired K04" comment I made above).
I'm getting about 300g/s from my intake - Is that to be expected from my intake?

Logs and csvs: As attached, or at

Flame on :)

The K04 will run out of flow capacity anywhere from 4200 - 5200 depending on the mods and the tune. Are you running a stock air box, or do you have some kind of intake? I don't see it in your mods list. A 3" intake will help spool time and get you another 10-20 g/s flow. With exhaust and intake mods, the K04 will max out at around 300 - 310 g/s in cold weather. Less in hot weather or high altitude.

A tip on logging - The ECU has limited logging bandwidht. So don't log any unnecessary PIDs. Don't log secondary O2 sensor STFT. It will never affect your fueling any time other than cruise or idle when desired AFR is very very close to 1.000 lambda. Also, logging AFR and Lambda is redundant. The AFR logs are just the Lambda logs * 14.7

Steve: Thanks for informative reply.

I've got a Corksport FMIC intake and 3" exhaust. Seems I've got my intake g/s pretty spot on, then. As well as utilizing this turbo as much as I can. Also MAP pressure holds on for long, which to me confirms that I've got no leaks.

Did not no about logging - just used the "predefined" MAF cal log presets. Will remove all the unneccessary information for next time.

I've seen good numbers on the road from the Corksport ram air intake. The ram air seems to help.
