Just pull the 2nd cat and see what you find in there. If you find bits and pieces from the 1st one then it's clear. It's an easy and cheap check at any car garage.

Last I checked the 2nd cat was intact, in perfect condition actually, that was 3-4 months ago, no change in car behavior since then, so pulling the 1st is inevitable..
