Stock CX7 tune

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum. I am about to order a versa tuner for a friends car. It is stock with only a cutles 3.5 downpipe. I have a bung adaptor for the lamda so no cel. Will the base map do the trick or will i have to fine tune on it? I have tuned some standalones (maybe more than some ) but only once a factory ecu and it was a pain (my personal Audi 8L S3 with a Eurodyne cable). The base map that they had was absolute crap.
One more question. Can the stock map be saved before i install the base map so i can compare the stock to the tuned data and revert to stock if something happens?

The stock tune is backed up automatically, but you cannot view or compare its contents. You can always go back to stock.
