Warm idle speed

Post by Ianstattoos »

Hi I need help adjusting warm idle speed, after fitting a lightweight flywheel I’d like to increase the idle to around 850 rpm to help reduce chatter,
After trying to edit my current map I’m confused which section on the idle needs to be changed, there are a lot of subsections, can I just adjust the ‘idle RPM - neutral’ or do I need to adjust every subsection? Any help would be great thanks.

Yes, all of them. You basically have 4 combinations resulted from in gear/not in gear x AC compressor on/AC compressor off.
From my experience a 800rpm idle is ok with a single mass flywheel, assuming you don't have some obnoxiously rigid motor mounts.

Okay great thanks, so would I be safe to basically change all the 700 rpm values to 800? I only have a rear motor mount so it should be fine I think.

Yes, change to 800 anything that's lower than 800.
