Ignition cut rev limiter possible?

Post by Maanghod »

Hi guys,

I’m wondering if it’s possible to replace the factory fuel cut rev limiter with a (popcorn) ignition cut rev limiter. The reason I am asking is that sometimes when I have to accelerate fast, I end up hitting the limiter. And with it being a fuel cut limiter which I know Mazda only chose in order to protect the catalyst from having lots of unburned fuel dumped into it (as with an ignition cut), I’m a bit concerned about LEAN AFR peaks, even if for a split second... But I have a decat pipe, so there’s no catalyst to destroy.

Thanks.

This feature is not currently available, we would have to investigate how much work it is to add something like that.

Bumping this because I'd love to go this route instead of fuel cut for launch control

Hello brappers (Brrrap-Brrrap),

Any news on this ignition-cut launch limiter ?

Cheers,

I would like to also express interest in this. Having 2 step capabilities would be nice.

Bumping this. Wouldn't mind if it required Versatuner Full to justify the extra R&D cost.

It's possible that the other platforms (2.3DISI-T in particular) may benefit from this especially when aux fueling is used, because when a limit is hit the fuel is not entirely cut.

Also very interested, would feel much more comfortable with an ignition cut than the fuel cut.
