Crank no start - hoping someone can help me before I pull my hair out

TLDR; crank but no start, IPW value of 29000

Hi all, not sure how many users are still on here. I’ve finally dropped the wife and picked up my dream car (04 RX-8).

I bought it locally, previous owner just pulled and rebuilt the engine, put it back together (along with at least 10k in suspension/chassis upgrades, intake exhaust, etc etc etc). When he put it together he couldn’t get it to start, did some diagnosing with friends/a tech and figured it was maybe the immobilizer but didn’t have the energy to keep digging.

I’ve had it for a few weeks now, I’ve since changed the fried battery and starter, tested every single fuse and relay in the car, chasing a new possible lead every few days, from the P0335 post that’s been on here to running new and cleaning existing grounds, testing circuits as I find new possible culprits …

Which leads me to my current status

VT is logging some weird parameters - stuck with a crank but no start

-compression test cold is getting about 119psi
-I have fuel at the engine bay but haven’t purchased a test kit yet
-pulled the front plugs and am getting spark (not sure how to gap rotary plugs)

The weird:
-my catalyst temp sensor is reading a value of 5519°C,
-Baro pressure is reading 99 which seems appropriate for my region
- an IPW of 29,914ms…

Any insight on these values would be greatly appreciated …

As mentioned, new starter and ground, new battery, fuses and relays all OK, Ess profile reset, deflooded multiple times, VT Tune flashed (with corrected MAF values in cells 1&2, clutch pedal position sensor tested ESS wiring, getting cranking RPM reading

Thanks in advance guys!

Wow.
Having things all apart, lots of possibilities.

Does it even try and start? Even a sputter?

The injector pulse width does seem whacked. Have you checked that the injectors are connected correctly?
<edit> maybe not. Can't find any of my old logs with the IPW being recorded.
