I'm pretty new to tuning but I've played around enough to get an idea of safe parameters, -25 degrees of ignition timing seems super excessive to me.
I'm running it. Realistically, it's stupid and dumb and totally pointless.
It's more of a proof of concept to aid in figuring out the DFCO table issues. The o2 sensor temperature went up by about 10%, so there's extra heat for sure (which is never good for the side seals).
I've revised it a few times to only be "active" above 5000rpm.

So do you think we should not do this at all or try this method?

This is squarely in the "if you have to ask, you shouldn't do it".

I’ve been running it for the past 6 months or so and it’s been fine. Haven’t noticed higher temps or anything.. that being said I don’t try to do it every second I’m driving like a kid in high school lol (I only act like that once in a while) but yes, it is fine and haven’t noticed any issues whatsoever, but my engine is majorly ported and I’m running treated rx7 seals among many other mods.. not sure if that makes a difference.

Yes, we are working on that. Crackles and pops will come to RX-8, too.
Will this update be posted on this forum or should I be checking on a website somewhere? Sorry I’ve been so busy I have no clue if it’s out already or not haha

If you would like a flame tune/crackles and pops please send me a private message. This will only work on 6 port (manuals) out of the box. You can probably edit it for your specific car if you want but that's squarely on you.
