ND2 Tune Tables lacking detailed information and few updates.

Post by JohnnyOhhh »

Just venting... you seem to have a whole lot of unknowns and a lack of updates and research for a platform that costs as much as it does... it is disappointing. It would seem you have no idea what 50% of the tables even do or how they are used from reading the table information "it is not yet clear what conditions cause it to be used" appears over and over again. Did you just stop working on updating the platform/software for these vehicles?

The reality is that we don't have Mazda’s original source code or documentation. To give you tuning access, our engineers have to reverse-engineer raw assembly code - literally tracing machine logic line by line. When we say it's "not yet clear" exactly when a table is used, we’re being transparent. We’d much rather admit a gap in the logic than give you a "best guess" that could lead to an unsafe tune or a damaged engine.
Far from slowing down, the ND2 is one of our most active platforms. In the last year alone, we’ve implemented entirely new custom code features like Launch Control and No-Lift Shifting, along with full support for forced induction tuning. We are still adding new tables almost every month.
We're committed to this platform, but reverse engineering takes time to get right. If there is a specific table labeled as "unknown" that is holding back your build, please let us know so we can prioritize it for the next update.

Dude, thank you for the response. I really appreciate the info. Nothing is holding me back currently, but I am planning a fairly complex w/m n2o/fuel controller for the platform and was a bit frustrated and frankly overtired when I posted this. One thing I do wish was that we had a more active community here, but i suppose general knowledge questions can be found in other forums.
