Here is an update on the car, let me know of your thoughts.

Re: Tuning Troubles
Do a WOT log in at least 3rd gear for a 6MPS, even 4th if you have space. Virtual dyno will not work accurately with the 6MPS/3MPS BK/gen1 CX7 logs because of the lower logging resolution. If you run a low gear log through it the resolution is even worse.

Re: Tuning Troubles
Alright I'll get a 3rd gear tonight.
Out of curiosity, is it possible to target boost through "MAP Targets" instead of Load Targeting?

Re: Tuning Troubles
Yes it is, but it's less consistent and you don't have per-gear control over it, which means you will still have to involve the load limits somehow. The logic of the ECU firmware (which we do not alter, we change only the values in the calibration tables) has more features built for managing the load than for managing the boost. So even though it can be done (and some tuners use this method) the means of properly controlling things and the smoothness of the driving simply can't be tuned properly with the map targets.

Re: Tuning Troubles
Yeah fair, I read a post made by you and it seemed to be basically raising your load targets to something that you won't really see and zero all load correction tables? Is that right or have I missed anything?
Re: Tuning Troubles
More or less this way, basically you set your load limits (not targets) to values that are known to be safe with your setup (depending on your setup, if you have forged internals or not, if you have an upgraded clutch or not, and so on) and then you target boost that will result in an airflow which will correspond to load values below the set limits. Load is directly proportional with air flow and with the duration of an engine cycle (so 1/rpm).

Re: Tuning Troubles
I gave it a shot last night, but it wasn't targeting anything near what I was asking for, so I just left the idea behind. Would've liked it to work but I'll stick with load targeting. What are safe limits for a stock block or limits that are above the safe limits that are possible but to do at your own risk?
Re: Tuning Troubles
The safe limits for a stock block is pretty much the limit of factory fuelling in therms of power (350-380bhp, depending on the fuel), and in therms of torque it's around 500-520Nm/370-380lb*ft (which is also the limit of the factory clutch). Also the lower limit of the above mentioned torque values should be at least 3200rpm, ideally 3400-3500rpm or higher.
With WMI you can go a bit higher in power if you have the right turbo (400-420), but for the factory connecting rods and clutch the torque should be kept within about the same limits (<550Nm/400lb*ft). Approaching, hitting or exceeding these limits and anything can blow at any time on a 100% healthy engine. On a worn and clogged engine or on an engine with various fuelling, ignition, cooling or oiling issues you can meet no one's friend ZZB a lot sooner.

Re: Tuning Troubles
Correct me if I am wrong, but I can raise load targets (around 2.3 - 2.5) as long as my fuelling hasn't maxed out and I'm within the safe power and torque ranges?
Re: Tuning Troubles
You can raise the load limits to like 2.4-2.5, but the targets not above 2.3-2.35. I hope the rods will never tell you why
On a worse fuel however which doesn't allow for too much timing you can go higher, because in the end it's about the cylinder pressure and actual torque.
