Thats what ive been led to believe by Christian @ Cobb Tuning. That the ECU reads the MAP sensor voltage and converts it to kPa and stores it in a CHAR datatype variable.

The CPU uses 32 bit IEEE 754 floating point for most all of it's math. MAP kPa is no exception. Raw volts are read from the ADC channel as a 16 bit unsigned integer then converted to kPa and stored as a 32 bit floating point value.

I don't forsee any problems.

I'm still working on sourcing the hardware.

I will either find a source where you can get these parts from, or if there is a large minimum order quantity, I will make a bulk purchase and resell them individually. If I do the bulk order, I will probably set up a group buy.

I'll know more in the next week or so.

I hate linking to the "other" site, but this looks very very interesting.

I want to know what you think about this, guys.

I read that thread a while ago. It may work as a band aid, but rescaling load in only part of the ecu is potentially problematic. I would rather alter the code to extend the relevant tables and have more granularity in the tuning.

The plug and play adapter may have to wait. So far, I have not been able to source the male connector in low quantities.

I'll keep searching though.

so whats the verdict on this? you can make it work easy with VT? but may have to solder wires due to lack of connectors for pnp?

The tuning is no problem with VT.

The $10k to make custom molds to make the pnp adapter is a problem at this point. If there were more vehicles that used that sensor and had a need for a 3 bar upgrade, I'd consider it. I don't think anyone wants to pay $500 for a silly pigtail adapter. I don't see a lot more than 20 or so of these selling any time soon.

Just order the Bosch pigtail and solder splice it in and weatherproof it well.
