I guess this will reduce the heat in the engine bay quite a lot.
However, I remember there was someone on MSF (phate?) who started to advise against using these blankets because they were making the exhaust housing to crack... This is why I didn't order one of these blankets for myself any more. Do you happen to know if that is a particular case only for some of the turbos? ...because I imagine you'd already know about this if it was really the case...

I know the KO4's are prone to cracking even without a blanket. This ATP housing is quite thick. I don't have any concerns.

I finally pried myself away from the keyboard long enough to get the cylinder head on.

You are close! I'll go through a similar process at the end of january.

Btw, what head studs are you using and how much are you torquing them to make use of that cometic head gasket?

ARP studs torqued to 20, 40, 60, rest overnight then 72 ft-lbf final with moly assembly lube on the threads.

That's what I did last time and I did not have any head gasket issues with loads > 3.5

I finally had some free time.

Engine is closed up. Manifold is wrapped. New compressor wheel is on. Waiting on some -AN fittings to plumb the turbo.
