What's your setup?

Post by Steve @ VersaTune »

I thought it might be interesting to have a thread where people can post their configurations. People could search for others with similar setups and share tuning info.

Post what you run!

oh geez.. I'm going to generalize this since I probably won't even remember everything.

3" custom intake/inlet with CPe filter (ram).
gt35r - ported, internal gate shut.
CPe front mount
Custom 2.4 -> 3 -> 3.5 -> 3 -> 2.5" blowthrough MAF pipe (no recirc ftmfw!)
Ported/polished intake mani
Ported valve cover
2 catch cans -> block -> intake mani and valve cover to VTA
Custom HPFP internals -> changed those so many times I don't remember which ones are in now. f*ckin cam pumps.
Denso 2 step colder spark plugs
VTCS delete and everything related
EGR delete
Balance shaft delete
Oil pan windage tray (don't even know if that's the right spelling, but you know what I mean).
DNP manifold modified with a dump tube
38mm tial EWG -> recircing back into DP
3" cpe/custom dp
3" GHL all stainless exhaust with resonator
No cats -> passes emissions :P

Spec stage 2+ clutch
TT front engine mount - Diff mount/rear diff bushings
CPe rear engine mount
TWM stage 2 short shifter/weighted knob

Tuned with VersaTune YO!!!11!!!

Other:
battery is in the trunk -> strongly recommended by me as it frees up so much space in the engine bay (watch out for track regulations though)
Second wideband tap for PLX
Custom EGT bung for DH
New AEM boost gauge -- so far so good (glowshift was pissing me the f*ck off) :)

Lax,

I don't have a trans mount and never had an issue there - had my car on a track quick a few times and my guess I'm making a bit more power than you do. :)
If anything, I'd suggest a front engine mount and a differential mount. Turbine Tech makes very solid pieces and they hold everything in place quite nicely.

Also, don't rush to catch up with either one of us. I spent so much effin money on this car, I could've had a GT3 ... maybe even RS at this point. :D

Looked over Steve's setup and it gave me a couple of hints on what I was missing - edited my original post. And I decided not to touch the block until it goes - at that point I'll be building the whole thing with a proper fuel system and all that jazz. haha. We'll see how far thing setup takes me. :)

Well your making ALOT more power but by top mount intercooler hits the hood. So thats mainly what the trans mount is for. Since the rmm isnt strong enough to keep everything in place. And i dont want to spend a ton of dough on the front engine mount which ive heard makes things vibrate like hell.

From everything I've heard the side mount and tranny mounts together make up the worst combo. With all my mounts I do have the extra vibration, but it definitely isn't all that bad.

I've stockified my car this weekend, since we have a master plan in the workings. Hopefully you will learn more about it next week :)
