so much info in one thread. well that brings me to another question. i know for turbos with different efficiencys like a k04 at 2.0 load vs a big turbo 3071. theres more volume or mass of air with the big turbo.

Well i was also wondering at say a 2.0 load on a k04 setup mostly stock. How does that compare to a 2.0 load when you add a 3 inch downpipe and reduce the back pressure greatly?

2.0 load is 2.0 load.

You will hit 2.0 load with less boost pressure with the downpipe.

Are the available versatune maps load tuned or boost tuned?
And if they are boost tuned is there a need to switch maps when temps change during winter or summer periods?

All current VersaTuner maps are load tuned. Therefore, they produce similar power output in all weather conditions and elevations. Just like the OEM tune.
