Seeking assistance with connectivity

2023 Miata. With ignition on, OBD2 connected, I get a green light on the OBD2 module.
When I open the Versatune software I get an immediate message stating that I need to be running firmware version 5.6.5.
Tried having Versatuner software automatically update, but the update failed.
Went to try to do everything manually at this point.

First - Updated the device drivers, and then the firmware updater, all seemed to go well.

Re-try the Versatune software and I am back to the same initial problem.

HELP PLEASE !
