Re: Software for CX5 2.2D ?
List of available tunes: https://www.versatuner.com/tunes.aspx
The application is the same as all other platforms. The only difference is the tables, logging pids, and available tunes.

Re: Software for CX5 2.2D ?
Hi,
If I was selecting a tuner to tune my $35,000 dollar car, I would want to know what parameters/settings he is altering, by what margins he is doing so, what are the expected average gains in power/torque I can anticipate, (dyno proof of before and after on a sample car would be essential) what sensors/parameters is he monitoring to ensure that risk of damage is minimalised.
For example, if I had a petrol car, he will be advancing or retarding the timing, he will be increasing the boost, he will be removing fuel at cruise but enriching at high load etc. But to make sure its a sensible tune, he will be monitoring afr's throughout the load range, he will be monitoring egt's, he knows the safe boost limit and for my engine and the efficiency range of the turbo I have and he'll be monitoring for knock.
Would you be able to provide similar information for the "Base" tune offered with VT? This sort of information may encourage potential buyers to take the plunge!
Thanks
Aaron

Re: Software for CX5 2.2D ?
The tune is totally open in VersaTuner. You can examine and edit every table and compare the values to the OEM tune. We expose all of the dealer service tool logging parameters (47 parameters). We are working on the dyno data now. We hope to have something published soon.
Re: Software for CX5 2.2D ?
Looking forward to dyno! Only one problem with performing map comparisons, one must first purchase VT!
And as mentioned, for the people who want to just flash your base map, we don't have the experience or knowledge to alter/create tunes or understand what changes may have been made, other then boost maybe!
Could you confirm those other questions in regards to AFR's, boost levels, EGT's etc as that would give us some confidence in the "relative safety" of the tune.
Thanks again.

Quick one, will your SW or base map 1.02 improve the transitions between gears, or response? Think the correct terminology is closed and open loop?
It takes forever to gear down and boost...

Hi, just wondering how regularly these support forums are visited by VT? My last post with questions was posted almost a week ago? Is there a better way to get the info I'm after?
Thanks
Thanks

These applications are pretty easy and straight forward to use that people simply don't need to ask much around to figure things out. However, when they do, as you can see, someone is always around to answer.

Re: Software for CX5 2.2D ?
Hi Mituc! Thanks for your reply! Appreciated. I think I am needing though in this case the software designers and providers to provide information about the tune they supply. Don't get me wrong, I want to purchase VT, but I want to have reasonable faith in the tune I am putting on my car. I won't be fiddling with the parameters, just loading on the supplied tune. So, as I mentioned in my initial post, before I pay for VT and the tune and load it onto my $35,000 family car, I just want some basic assurance that proper tuning safety has been carried out. Ie, yes, EGT was monitored and it never went above...., Boost levels are limited to...., yes while on a dyno, AFR's were monitored and on cruise they were...at full load they were....... This information should be available on the dyno printout.
Thanks
Aaron
Thanks

Re: Software for CX5 2.2D ?
We're working on the dyno and log data. The tune is fairly conservative. The increase is across pretty much the whole rpm range though, so you really feel it.
We don't alter AFRs. The ECU manages AFRs to control NOx and soot/smoke, and we let it do it's job. Diesel AFR ranges are very different from gasoline engines. A diesel can run just fine at 100:1 AFR or higher.
Since Diesels run unthrottled, boost levels are not a big concern other than making sure that boost air temps are ok and the turbo is not overspeeding.
EGTs and injection amount are the prime concerns. We have monitored the EGTs and injection amounts and are comfortable with the numbers.

Hi Steve, thanks for the reply! That answers a lot of my questions. Will just wait for that dyno!
