CX-3 Skyactiv G 2.0 support?

Post by RS_Specialists »

Hello fine folks,

long time HP Tuners user now finding himself with a 2019 CX-3 for a work vehicle. I'm a curious fellow and this is an intriguing package. I have searched a bit but have had no luck learning the difference between the Skyactiv G 2.0 in the CX-3 (rated at 148hp, 146tq) and the ones in the CX-5 (155 or 162 hp) and the MX-5 (181hp). Indeed, I see tuners offering 180hp software for the CX-3 but I just don't do that, having spent a decade messing with GM LS motors, I must dig into the sinew and discern for myself whats what. So... I come to the Versatune forums to learn a bit more about the engine software but I see the CX-3 is not on the list of supported vehicles. I can't imagine there would be much significant difference between the CX-5 engine and the CX-3 engine but, again, my search has failed me. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

thanks, Rich

We have not yet investigated the software on the CX-3 and CX-5, but in essence, all SkyActiv-G engines are very similar and run using the same logic. For us to support a model we need to get beta testers, add support for different calibrations, develop tunes, update websites, etc. That's why we focus on the models with the biggest base of tuning and modding enthusiasts.
