Locked ECU?

Hi, I am wanting to use the versatune on a recently purchased mazda mps.
The previously owner at some stage had a cobb AP installed and an OTA tune. He mentioned he flashed it back to stock and sold the AP.

I've ran the program VersaTune.AccessChecker-GDS, but i'm getting the following error message and only the VIN is obtained.

Is there another way to check I will be able to flash my ecu without risking purchasing the software and not being able to use it?

GDS access checker is for gen1 Mazdas only. As you have a gen2 MPS, you need to use this tool: https://www.versatuner.com/downloads/Ve ... r-GGDS.exe
