The OL Max timing table

Post by mituc »

This table is available beginning with the latest 1.10.[01] versions and I have a few questions before I get this to my tuner. What were the values in this table prior to this update and how were the default values currently displayed generated or acquired?

I'm asking this because indeed sometimes I was seeing that the timing is lower in some log cells but I'm also exceeding those values sometimes. By example for load 2.375-2.4 at 5500rpm the limit is 13 degrees and at 6k rpm the limit is 14, while sometimes I was reaching 13.2-13.5 degrees at 5500rpm and load 2.5 and 14.2-14.5 at 6000 load 2.4

I can't go out and do a log both because of the weather and because for running the latest update I'll have to acquire two new Windows10 licenses, so I'm asking this question here before actually testing and finding this out by myself (it's also safer as well :) ).

Thank you!

OL Max Timing is not new. It has been there for a long time. The values in this table and any other table are the OEM defaults unless modified by a tune. The values used by the ECU are interpolated between cells and may possibly have some other modifiers applied. The spark timing calculation code is very complex.

The new table in 1.10 is the Max Spark Timing table under absolute limits. It is a single value. with a default of 60.

You are indeed right, reading the new specs I took an old table as if was a new one.
