Hi folks,

Gen 1 Mazda 3 MPS owner here (based in New Zealand). I recently acquired this car, and it seems the previous owner used Versatuner on it in the past.

My current tuner can't do anything with the ECU because it seems to be locked. And at this stage he doesn't use Versatune. Unfortunately I don't have contact with the previous owner to find out if he has the software or backups.

Is there anyway to unlock it so my current tuner can work on it?

If it was versatuner and not something else contact the versatuner crew by email, give them the VIN number and I'm convinced they'll help you out.

Reviving an old thread but I had the exact same issue, I suppose your part of ClubMPSNZ? I can confirm that after emailing them, I was able to tune it with different software (at the time).
