I'm getting an error message while trying to perform the initial installation

Unspecified error use PassThruGetLastError for obtaining error text string.
'MongoosePro ISO2 #001916' is valid but not activated.

The serial number of the cable assy coincides with the error message.

I have the appropriate driver installed and running an up to date version of Windows 7 and tried more than one USB port with the VersaLink cable. Windows completed the driver installation when the cable was initially connected to the laptop. Is there some activation through Drew Technologies that I should have done? What is the solution or next step to resolve?

Will be reverting back to AP until this can be resolved.

Thanks.

Did you install the DrewTech tool box from the CD and activate the cable using the tool box app?

I believe it may only the driver based on our email dialog. In the email you mentioned about manually installing certain files and not using the auto run. I'll have another look tonight.

I installed the missing software that talks to the cable assy and we're good to go. I had some confusion based on the email exchange we had regarding manual installation of certain elements.

Thanks. Now to find a stock tune as a baseline for an STX tune before June 19th.

Sorry for the confusion. The online registration is something that DrewTech added in the latest version of their hardware. They are trying to prevent low quality counterfeits from entering the market and bricking peoples ECUs.
