Tune version 1.01 vs higher

Post by samuel »

Hello,

I have used version 1.08 (stage 1 ,192hp) on Mazda CX-5 2.2 MT (150hp) since 2017. Now i decided to put on version 1.01 (150->175hp). Car runs now much smoother, there is no lag between shifts and driving is much better even if there is no so much power.
Now some questions:
  • is there no possible to make such version like 1.01 with more power and no lag?
  • there are a lot of others tuners which also offers around 200hp, does others tunes also have such problems when Increased power?
Thank you.

Best Regards,
Samo

After reading Samo's post above, I decided to try the same tune. I've been running the same 192hp tune on my CX-5 since December and was very happy with it, except for occasional turbo lag if I didn't downshift.

Yesterday I flashed the 1.01 150 -> 175 tune onto my car and found that it's massively improved the driving experience! Lag is mostly gone and the car pulls harder in every gear (with a slight loss of power but it's not really noticeable).

Hopefully the 1.08 map can be refined to improve response but I understand this may not be possible due to the power output of the tune.

They modify other values, like start of injection (base and cold engine) and torque to injection volume w/wo EGR and another like rail pressure (multiple maps) that VT does not. It is not necessarily bad or good, each method has its results. I personally fit the VersaTune more.

Hello,

thank you for info about tunning. It will be very nice if somebody with tunning experiences can modify v 1.08 to beacome better and more useful, because big lag between shifting is really very disturbing, even if the temperatures are not high.

I dont trie so much v 1.06, is this version much better?

Best Regards,
Samo
