Need help with my BSC DC and Figure out my Knock spikes

Post by Memolax05 »

Hi im new to tuning and this community. I have a 2007 Mazdaspeed 3 with BNR S2, CS HPFP, CS stage 2 power intake system, HKS BOV ( recirculating) and a koyorad alluminum radiator. I'm trying to shoot for at most 300HP with this new turbo ( old one was eating the turbine and seals were shoot) im having trouble understanding how to tune my BSC DC base table and why on every logging pull on 3rd or 4th gear my knock spikes all the way to 5%. I'm using the high load 93 ots as a base tune. should i use another ots for base tune? or anything advice on my tuning journey.

The knock retard is measured in crank degrees, not percent. The maximum is 6 from 3500 and up (there's a table under the Ignition section that sets that).
The MAF calibration you're running seems to be for a stock intake, so that needs a bit of work because the CS Stage2 intake flows similarly or a bit less than stock to a point, and then it will flow more from the 2nd third and up.
The Base 98 should be good as long as you lower the WGDC a bit from 3000rpm and up. You can set them to like 20% and then see what the turbo needs for your load targets and increase that to the values you see in the log (which will be your base 20% + whatever the turbo needs on top of that but no more than "BCS DC Adjustment limit - Increase" which by default is set to 20%).
It's hard to tell the reason for the KR you see (I assume you're talking about the KR at lines 1293 - 1329 - had to search for it a bit), needs further inspection, but there's a chance one of the injector seals may be breathing a bit by the looks of it or maybe there's just something lose around the engine (piping, heat shields, and so on).

P.S.: the S2 can make a lot more than just 300 safely. 300 is still stock turbo territory;
P.S.2: Congrats on setting the right list of parameters to log, we rarely see that.
