Re: Map editing
Got on the motorway today and went WOT, car started stuttering and hesitating. Temps have dropped here to -1 in the morning to about 9 in the afternoon.
I did some logging,
5th gear looked fine, a bit of KR but nothing to worry about
3rd gear throttle is still closing, I have no idea why?
4th gear knocked bad, up to 7 KR at WOT!!! I made afr's 11.6 and pulled some timing, and also dropped the load targets. last run was 1.4 kr still bad but manageable. Why was 4th knocking so bad but every other gear was fine, and any idea why the throttle is closing?

I am on my cell phone so i cant load the logs, but if the throttle is closing it means you are hitting a limit somewhere. Check the boost kpa vs the tables and the load vs the tables, there are also some temp referenced tables that may need some tweaking.

Re: Map editing
At the point my throttle starts to close I'm nowhere near MAP limit, I'll wait for steve to chime in.

Re: Map editing
Car ran like shit again this morning, loads of stuttering at even 30% throttle.
Re: Map editing
Have you checked the fuel pressure? Ill be able to load the logs later today.

Re: Map editing
For the low rpm knock, add more fuel and/or pull timing. 2.2 load is quite a bit at 2600 and your AFR is higher than I like to see with that load/rpm.
You could try the same for the 4400 - 5000 knock too. These engines tend to knock in that range. That's peak torque, so it will tolerate less timing.
Have you checked and gapped your plugs? Did you drop a heat range from stock? ITV22s are recommended when you run that kind of load.

Re: Map editing
Is it worth getting the 22's now in winter with sub-zero temperatures on the way? As I've said before, I went through 3 sets of them in 10k mile which is why I went to the ngk stock heat rang which have only been in for 3kSteve @ VersaTune wrote:For the low rpm knock, add more fuel and/or pull timing. 2.2 load is quite a bit at 2600 and your AFR is higher than I like to see with that load/rpm.

I'm still trying to understand why 4th gear (and only 4th) suddenly started knocking so bad and why the throttle keeps closing?
I'm assuming there must be some sort of logic whereby the ecu recognises that if it continues on the same load trajectory it will exceed map limit, so it reduces the throttle before this happens.
