Re: Map editing
Iirc we tried some in 4th and some in 5th, both giving similar bhp figures but 5th giving more torque.
I have kmd's and pressure is good all the way to redline, I think my maf cal needs a bit more work.
I think when he plumbed the boost hose into the recirc valve it may have been leaking which is why it only shows boost reaching under 1.1 bar?
The attachment "4th run" was done on the road afterwards, turbo spools at over 3k rpm. It used to come in a lot sooner which is why I think my turbo might be toast. How do I check for a leak before the turbo??

Re: Map editing
You would probably hear an exhaust leak before the turbo. Look for black soot around any mating surface. Is your boost solenoid working properly? You should hear it buzz at one point when you slowly press the APP down with the key on and the engine off. Watch in the dashboard. You will see the DC change. Somewhere around 75% DC it should buzz. If the boost/vacuum feed to the BPV was leaking, it could cause it to open and recirc under boost.
My K04 used to spool by 2200 or so with a 3" catless TBE.

Re: Map editing
Start spooling at 2200, or be fully spooled? Mine starts about 2500, probably about right with a cat in?
To do list
Fit new brakes
Boost leak check
Exhaust leak check
Ebcs check, does the grimspeed buzz also?
Re-do maf cal
Edit- just looke out of the window and it's snowing like fuck, should be fun!!
Double edit: just re-checked the logs, all the ones on the dyno only made load targets after 3500, the one I did on the road after makes it at 2500 it must have been leaking from the bpv t joint he put in. He's giving me a couple of free runs either later today or early next week.

Re: Map editing
My k04 starts spooling at 2k and I have it fully spooling by 2500, but it would probably fully spool earlier if I let it. 22psi at 2500 is fun but I need to finish my l/a ic system because my bats are going north of 180*, my 3" tmic just isnt designed for this.
Hello 1000hp ic... my heat exchanger is bigger than my radiator.
The grimmspeed bcs buzzes more than the oem one.

Catted or not catted?
Any other 3 owners chime in with spool times?

Re: Map editing
If I look at the MAP and abs load on my log, there's a definite steeper climb at 2050 and it's levelling off at 2500 so that's reassuring. It appears later when your in the car looking at the rev needle, I expect there's some sort of delay in it.
Can someone clarify,
in the abs limit tables>closed loop open loop transition timers, increasing the value will make it transition quicker??

Re: Map editing
Lower is faster.
It doesnt really matter though because you can tune the CL and OL to be the same.

Re: Map editing
Well why is stock value zero, why would anyone want to delay OL?

Re: Map editing
You don't want it to flutter between CL and OL. A delay ensures that you are under OL conditions and will likely be there for a while.
