Mazda 6 Sport Mode

Post by Tkdgorilla »

New to the forum and tuning in general…
I was trying different things to breed a little life I’m my 2017 Mazda 6 Sport and I wondered if it’s possible to put a tune on the regular mode and one separate when I click on the Sport Mode. When i click on the sport mode, it seems to enable a different ECU setting. If so, how would I access that in VersaTuner?
I know, I know, sounds like a James Bond movie, but I figure it doesn’t hurt to ask…

There are two sets of APP Requested Acceleration tables in the ECU. One is used in normal mode, the other one - in sport mode.
Those tables map the accelerator pedal position at a certain speed to desired acceleration. In other words, in sport mode the accelerator pedal is more responsive (it takes less input to produce the same acceleration). That's the only difference between those two modes. You can usually edit both set of tables, depending on your ECU calibration.
