Mazdaspeed3 Testing
We will be road testing VersaTuner for Mazdaspeed3 this week and hopefully following Fez on the dyno this Saturday with a few before and after pulls.
Stay tuned...

Re: Mazdaspeed3 Testing
Well, we had some issues with the dyno at the shop. We'll get that resolved soon. Street tuning is continuing while we work that out.
The feed back is good so far. Keep an eye out for feedback from beta tester SP33D 3.

Steve you planning on doing a grimmspeed interrupt map for the MPS?

Re: Mazdaspeed3 Testing
We spent some time on the dyno Thursday.
Unfortunately, we ran out of time and did not finish the "High Load" tune. We got some good numbers from the 93 Octane Base tune as well as some preliminary numbers from the high load tune.
I'll spill the beans a bit and say that the high load tune is putting out a nice wide 290 - 292 WTQ plateau
The test car is a bone stock 2008 MAZDASPEED3.
To get a baseline, we ran three pulls with the stock tune and picked the highest one. We got the best stock numbers after a long cool down.
Here are the numbers from the Mustang dyno: The graphs - Note the massive increase in area under the curve! The car: Bone stock (Except for the MAZDASPEED oil filler cap
)
No exotic cooling
We will finish the high load tune in the next week or two. It's just a matter of working out the scheduling.

The red Mazdaspeed oil cap is stock on that car, I have one on my car. Some dealers removed them and installed the plastic ones and sold the red one as a upgrade.
Re: Mazdaspeed3 Testing
Meant to post a while back after the first dyno session back in June...the Speed 3 VersaTune that Steve configured is nothing short of sensational. When leaving Speed Industry (appropriate name) we flashed the VersaTune and I immediately noticed an improvement in low end performance. I could feel more power and torque off the line and could wind out 1st gear, which is usually useless with stock tune. Each gear thereafter felt more powerful and could be wound out without losing performance or cutting out before shift points (around 5500-6000 rpm). As you might wonder from the pictures, this testing was all done on winter wheels/tires --- I would expect even better driving performance from summer wheels/tires next year. Great job Steve! Looking forward to next dyno session and all the "tweaks" you made to the program
