Thanks Skiptowncat

My Butt dyno must be really broken! - I thought it might have the new 'base lightly tuned 98 EU' map loaded automatically not just the stock map! (Reminds me its still a quick car even without a tune)

I think I understand - when I create a 'new' map not just edit the existing veratuner ones this is a straight stock Mazda map to do with what I want? - What i was curious about is if this is the stock speed 3 map or if its the speed 6 map as they developed versatuner for this first.

I would think it would be the stock 3 map, it would be daft if it wasn't.
The base map is actually pretty good, I'd say as quick as when I had the hypertech on. The only thing I miss about that is how smooth the transition from cl to ol was.

Stock MS3 and MS6 tunes are slightly different and so are the VersaTuner Base tunes for each platform. They have different requested loads in lower gears due to the FWD/AWD difference as well as some other load targeting differences. While nearly all of the tables serve the same function, you can't cut and paste every table from one platform to the other. Some are the same and can be copied, some are not.

I know, but it's still lower than the lower value. My head hurts, I've been looking at this for an hour :?

EDIT: should I be using absolute throttle position or actual pedal position in my log?

Any input here, I can't seem to find any correlation in the logged absolute load v req load. Could that point to a boost leak?

A boost leak would cause low AFRs, and 100% BCS DC with low MAP. Post a WOT log with the general performance preset, and I'll see what's going on.

Don't forget that the Requested Load Multiplier Accel/Decel is applied to the Requested Load after the lookup. The MS3 versions of those tables really reduce req load - like almost 20%!

Attatched are logs, the first two are 4th to 5th gear, the other is 6th only. I have also attatched a copy of my tune so far

Steve the VVT tables should be the same since the VVT is the same, the table should max at 38* for the ms3.

Thanks 06Speed6.

I'll open the max to 38*. It's set to 30* right now. That is the highest value in the stock tables.

Steve sorry to be a bore

So you are saying that having loaded the versatuner and no other maps all i will have loaded is a base MS3 map that is like stock?

So to get the tuned one i need to re-conect and load up the v2.01?

Thanks

That is correct! The initial install is the latest stock tune with no performance related mods.
To get the Base 93/98 tune installed, you need to go to the tunes tab and flash it.
It's an extra step, but we can't presume to know which tune someone wants during the install.
