Re: mazdaedit tune
You should be able to install it over the existing tune. Once you install VersaTuner on your car, it flashes a base ROM that replaces anything that was on the ECU previously. You can then flash performance tunes.
Re: mazdaedit tune
That's interesting, I thought that base ROM stays from factory and only some tables are overwritten.Ugnius @ VersaTune wrote:Once you install VersaTuner on your car, it flashes a base ROM that replaces anything that was on the ECU previously.
How do you solve multiple factory calibrations published more than once a year for different SH engines (in example last correction - miscalculation of oil degradation)?

Re: mazdaedit tune
Our base ROMs are based on the latest factory calibrations for each ECU code available at that time and are functionally identical to the factory calibrations. We don't use a single base ROM for all ECU subtypes like some other vendors.
What concerns factory updates, every once in a while we review what the latest factory calibration for each ECU code is and update our base ROMs . If you need to know whether a specific fix is included, you can give me the calibration ID of the fix and I will check that for you.

Okay, I prepared this table of all combinations regarding R094/16 TSB: I'm interrested in SH06-188K2-V.Ugnius @ VersaTune wrote:Our base ROMs are based on the latest factory calibrations for each ECU code available at that time and are functionally identical to the factory calibrations. Re: mazdaedit tune
Thank you for compiling the list, we will verify our base ROMs and update as needed.
With regard to SH06, we currently do not have any customers running this calibration code, so we do not have a base ROM for that. But when we get the first customer with this calibration code, our base ROM will be built on top of the latest calibration from Mazda, which for SH06 currently is SH06-188K2-W, released on 2017-02-14.

Re: mazdaedit tune
So you have first SH06...
Have installed VersaTuner and connected via OBDLink MX. I suppose I should wait with installing on car until a tune for my SH06 will be ready?

Re: mazdaedit tune
Welcome onboard! OBDLink MX cannot be used for flashing, you will need a J2534 interface to do that. Please try installing on the car, it will show a message with the exact calibration code. We will need that to build the base ROM. Thanks.
Re: mazdaedit tune
OKay, I don't have my own J2534 interface, must visit my Mazda friend with OpenPort or my Mazda service with VCM first. Probably I should buy myself one from you in one order. Well, what can be done...

Re: mazdaedit tune
You should really have your own OBD interface, you never know when you need to make a change and exactly then everybody is out of town, on a party, in vacation, sleeping, or just not feeling like leaning you a hand.
